Finding the Best Digital Camera Under 200 Dollars
The best digital camera under 200 depends on what features you’re most interested in. Many of the better digital cameras under 200 dollars have very similar features. Before you go shopping for one, have an idea of what features you’re most interested in.
All those features can complicate your decision making process. Cameras do not have the same resolutions. Some are bigger and come either in a very board or very limited selection of colors. Other models have video recording capabilities.
The Fujifilm Finepix XP30 is considered one of the tougher models available. If you have a tendency to be rough on your equipment, this might be the right choice for you. The Finepix works under water, up to 16.4 feet deep. It can record video underwater and it has its own button specifically for that purpose. It can be dropped up to 4.9 feet without breaking. It will also work in temperatures as low as 14 Fahrenheit.
The Finepix XP30 has a 2.7″ LCD screen on which you can display your pictures. It delivers 14-megapixel images and is equipped with a 5x optical zoom lens. You can get it in blue, black, green, orange and silver. The Finepix XP30 is basically an improved version of the Finepix X190.
The Olympus SP-610UZ, on the other hand, has two very cool features. With a 22x (28-616 mm) optical zoom lens, its zoom is two to five times more powerful than other digital cameras under 200. It can also generate 3D images. You only have to take two shoots of the same scene from slightly different angles. You then merge both shoots together and, the camera creates a 3D image in an .MPO format. The Olympus is smaller and cheaper.
The Olympus SP-610UZ is similar to the SP-600UZ model but with some improvements. It is equipped with a 3-inch LCD screen and has a 14MP resolution. Although it allows you to record videos in 720p HD, it only comes in two colors: silver and black
Another camera you’ll want to consider is the Canon PowerShot SD1400 IS. Although it lacks some of the cooler features of the other two, it is a very thin camera. It is only 0.70 inches thick. It has 14.1 mega pixels of resolution, optical image stabilization with a 4x optical zoom lens and a 2.7 inch LCD screen. It is available in silver, black, orange and pink.
There are several other good choices for digital cameras in this price range. These three have some of the more interesting features, but you may find something that you like even better. Most importantly, spend a little time shopping around before deciding on exactly what you want. That way, you’ll be sure to get the best digital camera under 200 for you.
